Have Multiple IP address on single LAN card

Hi all,

Lets consider a scenario. Your ISP is providing you a LAN facility. But the LAN is divided into 2 or more sub networks... Now by the principle of network, we can communicate to only those users who have the same Network ID. But at the same time you want to communicate to all the users on your network...

For this purpose you need have multiple IP addresses on your LAN card... so for windows users the trick goes as follows.. Dont worry, its not a hack but its legal. :)

Step 1: Go to Network and Sharing Center and then click on Manage Network Connections

Step 2: Right Click on Local Area Connection and click on properties

Step 3: Single click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties

Step 4: Now click on Advanced and add the new ip addresses which you want

Step 5: Thats it :) now click on OK and Open the Command Prompt

Step 6: Now type ipconfig... you will see that your LAN card adapter has multiple IP addresses and your would be able to ping your friends in other network

So Enjoy ur LAN and Have fun!!!
